Taking care of the elderly's mental health

According to WHO, about 15% adults above the age 60 suffer from a mental condition.

Majority of the disorder is dementia and depression. Anxiety is also another disorder.

This is because of chronic pain, retirement, low socialization, socioeconomic status, and inability to move quickly.

These may cause loneliness and or psychological distress in the elderly.

Mental health has a direct impact on physical health too.

To cope with this, government should provide security and freedom for the elderly.

Social support programs can also help.
