Roads in India kill at least 56 pedestrians a day!

A Government data shows that since 2014, there has been 66% increase in the fatalities on roads.

The number shot up from 12,300 to 20,457 people in 2017, which means the lives of 56 pedestrians a day are lost.

Cyclists and two wheelers also come under pedestrians. Maximum pedestrians were killed in Tamil Nadu followed by Maharashtra with 1831 accidents..

About 4,659 two wheelers succumbed to accidents.

High time we make Indian cities pedestrian friendly like western nations.
