1. Thanumalayan temple (also known as Sthanumalayan Kovil)
An architectural wonder with four pillars each 5.5 m in height carved out of a single stone. It also has Hanuman statue with single granite block, 6.7 m, one of the tallest in India of its type.
2. Kanyakumari Beach
A multicolored sand beach, not recommended for sun bathing though. People are told to stay away from the rocks as they can be quite dangerous. There is a lighthouse too through which you can watch a panoramic view.
3. Vivekananda Rock Memorial
An extremely popular tourist spot, consists of two memorials, the Shripada Mandapam and Vivekananda Mandapam. The sea surrounds this memorial. There is a meditation house next to the memorial as well.
4. Thiruvalluvar Statue
It is a 40.6 m tall statue made to give tribute to the poet and philosopher, Thiruvalluvar. It is situated at Coromandel Coast of the Indian ocean, the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian sea, two seas meet one ocean. The statue weighs about 7000 tons.
5. Padmanabhapuram Palace
Anyone who has a knack for architecture and love for art must visit this palace. This is a wooden palace built in 16th century. There are murals from 17th and 18th century inside too. Even though the palace is located in Kanyakumari, the palace is registered under Kerala’s government.
