India's first oral health policy to be unveiled by Maharashtra!

Maharashtra had the record of highest number of oral cancer cases in India, Devendra Fadnavis came up with the first oral health policy, to keep oral cancer in check.

The policy is called Swashtha Mukh Abhiyaan which will be launching soon. Under the policy, it will be compulsory for all private dental hospitals to check poor people for oral cancer without charges.

Government will be funding the treatments through existing health policies.

Swashtha Mukh Abhiyaan was finalized after the initiative taken by Tata Memorial Hospital in Parel to spread awareness about the gravity of oral cancer.
