Flat transfer fee restricted to 25k

Several societies ask to make ‘voluntary donations’ while making a sale of a flat. Bombay high court recently ruled that out and coined it as illegal.

The rule states that the society cannot force excessive fees from members and put it under as voluntary donations. Running by the law, the transfer fee is about 25,000 rupees.

The maintenance charges should be equal for every member of the society. It should not differ from per square foot ratio or the number of rooms.

Voluntary donations can be made but it should not be done during the process of buying and selling.
